The O’Sullivan Foundation supports a number of initiatives at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the oldest technological research university in the United States.Sean O’Sullivan is an active alum and board member of Renseelaer Polytechnic Institute. Located in upstate New York, the college focuses on engineering solutions to national and international needs and challenges, on providing a peer-learning, experiential learning environment. 

Rensselaer Center for Open Source Software

In 2006, the O’Sullivan Foundation provided support to create the Rensselaer Center for Open Source Software (RCOS), which provides stipends for dozens of students annually to work on creating open source software solutions for developing countries and the development of civil society.

The mission of the Centre is ‘To provide a creative, intellectual and entrepreneurial outlet for students to use the latest open-source software platforms to develop applications that solve societal problems.

Sean is an alumni, trustee, and 2011 William F. Glaser ’53 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
